Customer Service Week Ideas – Celebrate Wherever Your Team is Working

Customer Service Week agendas for remote and on-site celebrations.

Some people will celebrate with games, activities, and recognition each day. Others will opt for a smaller event. Whatever suits your needs, you’ll find lots of ideas at the CSWeek.com website. To get started, here are two sample agendas. One is for an on-site celebration and the other is for a remote celebration. Use these as the framework for your event and add ideas and inspiration from the 18 Best Customer Service Week Tips and from the large collection of celebration stories from leading customer-focused organizations.

Your remote celebration agenda

The Above & Beyond Gift Box is at the heart of your remote celebration. We deliver these colorful boxes, packed with gifts, right to reps’ doors in late-September. You may also create a custom gift box for groups of 50 or more. Please call or email for details.

Two to three weeks in advance. Email Save the Date Cards to everyone on your team.

Alert them that a special gift is headed their way. But warn them not to open the box. When your gifts arrive, the message will be reinforced. The colorful gift boxes include the words, “Do Not Open Until Customer Service Week.”

One week in advance. Distribute agendas. This helpful reminder will ensure that everyone is available and ready to celebrate. Our editable agenda forms match everything for your celebration.

Monday. Gather your group for a Zoom meeting. If your group is large, set up calls for individual teams with their supervisors or team leaders at staggered times. Before the festivities begin, upload one of the Customer Service Week virtual backgrounds.

After everyone has oohed and aahed over their gifts, ask them to set up their work spaces and share a photo with the group leader.

Tuesday. Share work-space photos via Zoom, Webex, GoToMeeting or another communication platform. Now, try to match the home office to its owner. “Who’s got that great desk lamp?” “Is that someone’s cat behind the monitor?” Sharing work spaces will spark a new level of team connection.

Wednesday. Ask everyone to sign on to a special presentation from your organization’s president or CEO. If everyone can’t join at the same time, record the presentation and make it available throughout the day.

Thursday. Start the day with a fun activity like Split Personality or the Meme Contest.

Friday. Tally up the scores from all of the puzzles, activities, and treasure hunts. Gather online to announce the first, second, and third place winners, and maybe a few special winners, such as “best effort,” and “really doesn’t like puzzles.”

Monday after Customer Service Week. Combine the work-space photos and scavenger hunt photos that were contributed during the week and create a collage to share with everyone as a reminder of the celebration.

Your on-site celebration agenda

This celebration includes recognition activities, team-building activities, and lots of fun. The agenda can be expanded with our pre-planned activities and with ideas from past celebrations.

Two to three weeks in advance. Distribute Save the Date Cards to everyone who will be celebrating.

Friday before Customer Service Week. Distribute agendas for the coming celebration. Decorate the customer service department and the entire organization with Posters, Pennants, Banners, and Balloons.

Monday. Start the week with a kick-off breakfast. Take a few moments to ask all participants to sign the annual Customer Service Week Pledge. This provides an opportunity to discuss the importance of the week, the meaning of the week’s theme and logo, and for everyone on your team to recommit themselves to customer service. Send everyone back to their desks with a memento of the event.

Tuesday. Bring everyone together for a pot-luck or catered lunch, then break up into smaller groups for team-building activities like our Build a Tower, CanStruction, or Team Ball.

Wednesday. Encourage a little friendly competition with a Scavenger Hunt, Penny Wars, or Chair Decorating Contest. Or host a stress relief activity. Turn the breakroom into a peaceful oasis, serve healthy spa snacks, try the 10-Second Stress Test, practice yoga and deep breathing techniques, and send everyone back to their desks with their own Rocket Stress Ball or Mini Zen Garden.

Thursday. Focus on recognition with our Peer to Peer and Web of Compliments activities. And roll out the red carpet with a special cupcake and coffee break complete with Customer Service Week Table Tents and Cupcake Toppers.

Friday. Host a wrap-up party. Provide a catered lunch or pot luck to end the week on a high note. This is the time to reflect on the special celebration the team has shared, to thank all of the people who gave their time and energy to make the week a success, and to make your final prize awards.

A. Customer Service Week is an international celebration of the importance of customer service and of the people who serve and support customers on a daily basis.

Customer Service Week started in 1987.

In 1992 the U.S. Congress proclaimed Customer Service Week a nationally recognized event, which is celebrated annually during the first full week in October.

Since 1991, the Customer Service Group has sponsored the official Customer Service Week program and the CSWeek.com site. The group provides how-to information; celebration materials imprinted with the official Customer Service Week logo; and inspiration from the hundreds of service and support professionals who share their celebration stories, plans, and ideas.

Q. What is the official 2024 Customer Service Week logo?

A. The official 2024 Customer Service Week theme is Above & Beyond.

It’s an important message that will inspire your staff during Customer Service Week and throughout the year.

The theme is colorfully illustrated in a berry, goldenrod, azure, and midnight blue logo which appears on everything you need to celebrate.

This year we invite your service and support staff to go Above & Beyond for customers.

Q. Can I imprint the Customer Service Week logo on my own materials?

A. No. The Customer Service Week logo is a trademark of the Customer Service Group. Federal law, and good business practices, prohibit reproduction in any form or by any means. For further information, visit the Logo Page.

Q. Can we get our company name imprinted on the products we purchase?

A. Custom imprinting is available on a limited basis. Please contact us to discuss your needs. Full contact information is at the top of the page.

Q. Many of your items are packaged in quantities of five or 10, I only have four reps in my group, what should I do?

A. We cannot break up packaged items. Instead we suggest that you use the extra items throughout the year for new hires or as gifts for employees in other departments.

Q. What is the flying time of your balloons?

A. We recommend ordering our Foil Balloons if you are planning to inflate the balloons with helium and use them all week. The flying time on Latex Balloons averages 12 to 14 hours.

You may extend the life of helium-filled latex balloons with Ultra Hi-Float, which is available at many party supply stores.

Q. Can I get a sample of an item before I order?

A. We are unable to send samples. But rest assured, our goal is your 100% satisfaction. If you are not completely satisfied with your celebration materials simply return them before September 20, 2024 for an immediate replacement or credit.

Q. Can I make changes to my order after it has been submitted?

A. Orders cannot be changed online once they have been submitted. In most cases, however, if you call us immediately at 1-973-265-2300, we will be able to make the change.

Q. Will I get an order confirmation?

A. Yes, once you submit your order online, you will automatically receive an email confirmation. Remember you must provide the correct email address to receive the confirmation. So, please take an extra moment to double check this information before submitting your order.

Also, please add our email address, info@csweek.com, to your company’s “Safe-Sender List” to ensure delivery of your confirmation.

Q. Can I place an order from outside the U.S.?

A. Yes, after you have selected your celebration items, simply choose your “Country/Region” from the drop-down menu. You will be asked to provide your FedEx, DHL, or UPS account number. The shipping charges will be billed to your account by the courier you choose. Be aware that orders delivered to destinations outside of the U.S. are often subject to fees, duties, and taxes, which are the responsibility of the recipient.

Q. What is the last date I can order and still receive my materials in time for Customer Service Week?

A. We will continue to accept orders as long as supplies last, but after September 20, 2024, express shipping charges may apply.

Q: I need to return something. What should I do?

A: If you are not completely satisfied you may return your purchase for a replacement or credit.

To replace: Please notify us within 10 days of receipt for an immediate replacement.

To return: If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase you may return it within 10 days and before September 20, 2024. Returns totaling $250 or more and returns made after September 20 are only permitted with the express approval of CSWeek.com. A 20 % restocking fee will apply.

Please follow these simple steps for a return:

  • Call us at 1-973-265-2300 to receive your Return Authorization Number (RA#). Packages returned without a RA# may not be processed and may be returned to you.
  • All returned merchandise must be in salable condition.

A. Orders are processed in the order in which they are received. The typical delivery time is 7 to 10 days depending on your location. After September 20, expedited delivery may be needed and rush delivery fees may be incurred to ensure on-time delivery before Customer Service Week.
